LIVE tribute acts, parades, barbecues and rolling around in giant bubbles are just some of the events happening across Oxfordshire for Armed Forces Day.

Military and civilian families have leapt at the opportunity to have some fun in the sun in Bicester, Wantage and, pictured here, Carterton.

The West Oxfordshire town, which has strong connections with nearby RAF Brize Norton, is celebrating Armed Forces day with a Fake Festival - a host of tribute acts to big-name bands in the grounds of Carterton Community College.

As well as sets from the likes of "Coldplace", "Kazabian" and "Blondied" from 12.30pm to 11pm, the fun has already started this morning with family activites such as Zorbing - rolling around in giant inflatable balls, pictured here.

The event will raise money for the forces charity SSAFA.

Residents in Wantage are hosting a 1940s-themed barbecue this afternoon while Bicester has encorporated Armed Forces Day celebrations into its annual town carnival at Pingle Field from 1pm onwards.
