A driver suffered lower leg injuries in a late night crash on the M40.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called to the single-car crash between junction 7 and 6 at around 1am today (February 15).

The driver was released from his car before being treated by paramedics.

An Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Shortly after 1am this morning crews from Bicester Fire Station and Kidlington Fire Station responded to this single vehicle RTC on the M40 between junctions 7 and 6.

"On arrival crews were able to assist South Central Ambulance Service (SCAS) and helicopter emergency medical service (HEMS) in releasing the driver from the car who suffered lower leg injuries, as you can see from the photo thankfully these injuries weren’t more serious."
