The FAMILY of a five-year-old who died following a crash near Bicester have released a tribute to him.

A crash between a Ford Focus and a KTM motorcycle on the B4011 in Blackthorn, near the junction with Thame Road, at around 2pm on April 14 took the life of young Teddy Hickman.

His family have described the young boy as ‘beautiful’ and ‘cheeky’.

They said in a statement released this afternoon (April 18): “Teddy was the light of our lives and our entire world. He was the most beautiful little boy inside and out with the cheekiest smile.

“He was funny, loved to play tricks and so very clever.

“Teddy had the kindest soul, the most caring little boy who we will forever be proud of, the greatest privilege of our lives.

“He was loved by so many and brought immense joy to all our lives from the day he was born.

“We would ask for time and privacy to grieve the immeasurable loss of our little boy.”

The rider of the motorbike, a man aged in his 40s, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with serious injuries.

Several days after the crash the motorcyclist remains in hospital with serious injuries. 

The driver of the Ford Focus, a woman in her 30s and a nine-year-old child, were also treated in hospital for less serious injuries.

Floral tributes and stuffed toys have been left at the junction in memory of Teddy.

A book of condolence was opened by the Oxford Mail and tributes flew in from across the county.

No arrests have been made as Thames Valley Police has launched an appeal for witnesses following the incident.
