CONOR McDonagh scored his first goals for Thame United with a hat-trick in a 4-1 victory over Wootton Bassett Town in the Uhlsport Hellenic League Premier Division at the ASM Stadium.

Having been recalled to the side, he got off the mark in the eighth minute when he ran on to Dan West’s through ball to shoot home.

Nine minutes later, he buried a half-volley, and Ben Gray headed in Matt Hall’s cross to make it 3-0 in the 33rd minute.

McDonagh completed his hat-trick with a curling shot three minutes after the break, with Steve Yearley replying with an 89th-minute penalty.

Two late goals condemned Ardley United to their fourth straight Premier Division defeat as they went down 2-1 at home to Holyport.

Ardley took early charge of the game, going ahead in the 11th minute when Troy Bryan deflected the ball home from Luke Ingram’s centre.

But Holyport dominated the second half and equalised in the 82nd minute when Tom Kaill’s corner went straight into the net, after Ardley keeper Jack Harding missed his punch.

Things got worse for the hosts two minutes later when another corner was not properly cleared, and Kaill was on hand to ram the ball home.

Abingdon United’s roller-coaster season continued when their ten men lost 4-1 at home to Reading Town.

The kick-off had to be delayed due to a nearby road accident, but the visitors moved 4-0 ahead with two goals in each half through Liam Ferdinand (2), Craig Jennings and Josh Helmore.

Andrew Younie replied in the 82nd minute for the hosts, who had Cameron McNeill sent off just after the break for a second yellow card.

Second-placed Kidlington had to settle for a goalless draw at Milton United.

Lowly hosts Shrivenham held Bracknell Town to a 1-1 draw, both goals coming in the first 15 minutes.

A penalty by Shrivenham’s Sam Collier was followed a Martin Bradshaw strike for the visitors.
