Bicester Boxing Club head coach Daza Usher praised welterweight duo Sammy Ait-Tales and Ant Miller after the pair won bouts at the Witney Fightclub show.

Both claimed unanimous decisions and Usher, himself a welterweight, was thrilled to see them deliver dominant displays.

He said: “I’m really proud and pleased with both of the lads.

“They are both training hard for our home show on November 28 and it’s good to get victories for them in the run-up.

“Both lads were up against tough opponents, but the work they put in at the gym and the numerous miles they covered when running gave them the edge.

“They can both build on this performance and add more to their growing skill set.”

Ait-Tales was the first in the ring, taking on Chippenham’s well-supported Aiden Thomas.

The Bicester fighter looked very impressive from the start, firing out fast combinations and employing slick head movement to avoid oncoming punches.

His control grew as the fight went on and he won the final round.

The judges agreed he had outclassed Thomas by delivering a unanimous victory.

Miller’s fight against Ashley Garrington, from Torquay, went along similar lines.

Again it was Usher’s man doing the damage and there was no surprise to see Miller’s arm raised by the referee after the final round.

Both men will be part of the annual Oxford Fight Night, at the Bicester Leisure Centre this Saturday.
