A DEPLETED Bicester made a good start to their UK Development League Midlands North East Division 1C campaign when finishing third at Banbury.
Sam White won the Under 15 boys’ 100m and the B-string javelin, before setting a personal best in the 300m, where he was runner-up.
Joseph Rayner scored valuable points and new bests when finishing third in the 200m and high jump, while Edward Joliffe set a new mark when winning the B event.
Samuel Worfolk took the B shot, with Ethan Connor fifth with a personal best.
In the under 13 event, Samuel Rayson triumphed in the 75m hurdles, while Michael Cadle set new bests to win the B 200m and high jump.
Ben Groves was second in the A high jump with a national grade 4 effort of 1.33m, before finishing third in the 100m.
Amber Parker recorded Bicester’s only win in the under 15 girls with a lifetime best of 19.66m in the discus.
She was also third in the shot and hammer.
Isla Bohannon ran a personal best of 11.50secs to win the under 13.75m.
She was second in the B high jump, with Georgia Usher the same position in the A event and third in the 1,200m (pb).
Amy Willis was second in the B event.
Imogen Cox took second places in the B 800m and javelin, while Ruby Silvester was third in the A event of the latter, setting a new best.
Meanwhile, Bicester’s JJ Welham was fifth in the speed bounce at the National Sportshall finals in Manchester.
