OXFORD United boss Des Buckingham has issued a rallying call to those who may not yet have submitted their thoughts on the club’s planning application for a new stadium.
The U’s are looking to build a new home at The Triangle, south of Kidlington Roundabout, with the club’s licence agreement at the Kassam Stadium running out in 2026.
A planning application was submitted at the end of February, with the public able to comment on it via Cherwell District Council’s online planning portal until the end of the weekend.

Buckingham said: “Please get in whatever feedback you have on it, and allow everyone to move on with the next stage and steps of the process, and do all we can to secure the next steps.
“You want people to come forth and put their opinion forward. Hopefully it’s one of support, and encouraging what will be an exciting opportunity for the people of Oxfordshire, let alone the football club.”
Oxford United Supporters’ Panel (OUSP) secretary Janine Bailey added: “Our fans have every right to have their views regarding the stadium plans considered.
“Many have already responded, and done a great job of explaining the positives in the plans. Every single one of you can make a difference, and OUSP urges all fans to register your support.
“Let’s be clear, without this stadium the club’s future hangs in the balance. If future generations of Oxfordshire children are to have a professional football club to support, we must make our views known this weekend.”
United development director Jon Clarke previously told the club website: “Supporters have been first class in backing the proposal and we’re now encouraging fans to make their voices heard again. Many signed a petition, voted in a parish council poll or commented on planning exhibitions.
“But there is now one more opportunity to actively support the scheme and help protect the club by writing letters of support and commenting on the planning portal. This additional support helps add weight to our case and collectively can make a difference.”
