11:00am Thursday 16th February 2012

Bicester Unique Fitness Centre’s light middleweight, Kevin Perry saw off Hardnox’s Nathan Williams in his first fight at the Pilgrim Centre in Bedford.

It was a nip and tuck in the opening round until Williams found the chin of Perry and sent him to the canvas.

Perry was straight to his feet and took the mandatory eight count.

The Bicester fighter pres-sed hard in the second round, throwing clusters of fast punches.

In the third round, Perry pushed his rival onto the ropes before unleashing a hard right hand that forced the referee to halt the contest.

Middleweight Adam Broad-bent needed only two rounds to see off Hardnox’s Lee Chandhar on his debut The first round was close, with Chandhar, rushing out of his corner to try and impose his authority.

Broadbent used his angles well to land solid right hands and short left hooks.

As the bell approached, Broadbent threw a looping right punch that dropped his opponent to the canvas. Chandhar climbed back to his feet in time.

Broadbent upended his rival with a solid overhand right punch in the second round, the referee stopping the fight to save Chan-dhar more punishment.
