Sir – Following the CQC inspectors’ report on Bure Park North Bicester Surgery, I would like to say a big thank you to Dr Brendan Macdonald and the practice staff for their caring support when I was diagnosed with cancer following a self-referral mammogram prior to surgery.
It was not planned but they found time for me and my concerns. I would prefer to keep the care and support of the current service than a fast efficient uncaring service running a ‘factory line’ type of medical treatment..
Bure Park has a high percentage of young families where both parents work. Personal time is in short supply so everybody is in a rush hence the large number of complaints of delays at the GP practice. We do not hear of satisfied patients.
The practice has a triage nurse for daily emergency appointments now which I hope has relieved the pressure on the GPs (one full-time, two part-time)
